Lucio Remaggi has been in the restaurant business for over 40 years. Borgo Prino was still a quiet hamlet of fishermen and tourism a long way off in the future when he opened his first restaurant, in the very area where he was born and as a boy went fishing with his father, an experienced sailor.
After opening two more restaurants which are both still extant, Lucio finally opened his “little house”: the restaurant was made out of an ancient stable in the neighbouring Torre Bonazza where a company which transported millstones kept its dray horses – a lowly occupation for an aristocratic building. Both Lucio’s wife Mara and his son Marco work with him.
The harvest of the earth and the sea of Liguria will be offered to you depending on the season and the availability of fish at the markets of the Riviera dei Fiori, but the dishes will always become more flavourful with the addition of olive oil doc (of controlled origin); this comes from the innumerable olive mills of the countryside surrounding Imperia.
